s5 omp pump disable?
s5 omp pump disable?
I really want to disable my s5 omp, but I've read that you just can't take it off. You have to gut the internals and leave the electrical connections hooked up?
I need some more understanding before I "fuc#" up my omp.
Can anyone verify in a little more detail on how to disable it other than the one thread I found that has a tidbit on it.
From what it said, I remove the omp, take out ALL the internals to the omp and simply bolt it back up to the block. Then, I can block off the lines on the intake and block and remove the lines from the back of the omp and block those off. Then just make sure the electrical connections are still plugged in?
Thanks again.

Dont even go that far. Remove it, block it off, but leave it plugged up, in stock form. Take teh OMP lines off of it, cap teh injectors up top etc., but leave your OMP intact, hanging there connected, just tuck it out of the way somewhere, maybe ziptie it up to the pass. side frame/wiring harness. Because a) you might want to use it again b) you might want to sell it one day c) those ******* are hella expensive

Suppose so, but I know a few people have done it this way and it still worked later. Actually, no, because it is driven by a gear that attatches to the front cover; unbolt it from here, and it is no longer driven, at least the main working part. The stepper motor, which is supposed to adjust flow rate, would still work; the computer must see this to run the engine properly anyway, which is why it must remain pugged up.

well, two reasons... One, since I have a brand new engine. I want to run premix. I've seen the inside of an engine after 30k miles of just premix, and man it was CLEAN.
Im not sure of the other reason yet
...oh yeah, Im researching on running synthetic oil if I disable my omp? Any thoughts on that?
