S5 n/a intake question; VDI

well i just wanted to ask about the VDI in the S5 intake.

ok the VDI unit has the holes in it for the middle part when open/closed. the question is, when its open are the holes supposed to be letting the air through them, or not??

i always thought it was open when the holes were open letting the intake air through them.

thanks

the VDI unit's holes are open letting the intake air go through them

There's actually no airflow through the VDI passages, they just open to transmit pressure waves in the air. Just so you know.

Are the aux port actuators dead also? They are operated from the same pressure source as the VDI.
You're giving up power & fuel economy.
Why not get them to work properly?
