They don't sell the bushing seperate from the entire piece. Thats okay with me. Now Im wondering is it possible to just buy that piece and remove the bushing with like a pick or some device from it and slide it into my old one.

Back from the dead!
I opened up my shifter assembly because it was getting sloppy. I inspected all the bushings and crap and low and behold, the bushing in the first post was toast. The nylon bushing had totally desintegrated and it looks like the shifter ball opened up the hole that the nylon bushing inserts into, bigger.
So I have to replace that bushing. The sucky part about it, is that it looks like I have to remove the transmission, just to replace it. Am I correct? Is there an easier way of replacing that bushing. I've been searching and have read that people use a brass or copper bushing.
Do you guys think it's possible to just pick up the 93 nylon bushing and sand it down to fit?
Is it even worth the effort to replace this bushing?

I'm assuming that you read my thread. I made my own bushing (temporary fix, at that.) However, the ball of my shifter had not yet made the hole that the white bushing fits into any bigger.

It made all the difference in my shifter.

You could grab a copper pipe with a diameter just smaller than that of the shifter ball, cut it to a length that is the same as the hole depth then make a cut with a hacksaw lengthwise on one side. This will create a friction fit on the ball when it is pushed onto it, and hopefully fill the gap between the ball and the hole. I used a brass bushing that came with a Hayden fan clutch for a GM vehicle. It was already split on one side and fit perfectly on the ball and in the hole. I would think it should last longer than a nylon bushing.
