Im wondering if a JDM turbo unit is any different than a USDM turbo? Im getting a JDM TII engine to replace my USDM TII engine, and I would like to use the lower milage turbo if possible. Thanks

 

its definitely interchangeable if thats what you're worried about, i dont think theres any other differences either. Just make sure its a turbo from the same series as the current one or else theres some other things that have to be changed.

 

Yeah, they are both S5 turbos. My motor should be here late next week and im trying to anticipate any problems that might come up... Thanks

 

only thing I could think of is the vacuum tube going to your brake master cylinder. They are just a little different on the jdm engines. oh...another thing would be the ability for smog...jdm engines are a little different in that area too. well, at least my s4 jspec engine was different but I don't have to pass any emissions tests.
