same here, 86 n/a. goin with a full JDM engine/tranny. I got the ecu and the engine harness, the biggest problem with this one is that the dash harness is a bitch. i cant seem to find a jdm dash harness or the plugs that'll fit the ecu. wiring will be your biggest problem, the mechanical stuff is pretty easy, just a hoist and a couple of friends will get it done. Im about to start lookin for someone to do wiring for a cheap fee

T2 Tranny, driveshaft, rear end, halfshafts would be a good start.

Followed by probably having someone wire it up for you, unless you can get a good harness for it. A lot of the stuff you're going to need will take you more than a week to find/buy/have shipped.

Oh man, how can you search and not find a TII conversion thread? Did you search our forum, or a Miata forum? The S5 is practically plug in play for the swap, whereas the S4 has some wiring variances. Any Turbo ECU from an S5 will work, American or Japanese. You'll need the rear end, drive shaft and half shafts as well.

oh great before this thread gets filled up with people telling you to use the dam search button. and if you have used it and still couldn't find anything please state that you used it and nothing came up...this topic has been covered 10 bazillions of times and you can really ask any one who has ever owned a 2ed gen. They all know so before you make a new thread please use the search. or just ask a friend....better then getting flamed on. remember your lesson. Lesson served. End Of Transmission.

i always use the search function also... HOWEVER the search function has been bringing up wierd results for the past few months. seems like they're still fiddling with it. so in these guys defense, i know it's frustrating.

here's the deal guys.

you should try to keep the same series, as this will make things easier on you. if you stay with the same series, all you need is motor+tranny+ecu+engine harness+turbo boost sensor and turbo AFM. you'll also need a DP for your turbo unless you bought a turbo exhaust already. it all plugs right in with no mods. there are some threads on how to use the N/A harness for the TII engine, but i have no idea.

for your rear ends. if you dont have the TII rear end (from the driveshaft back), then you can go to mazdatrix and buy a driveshaft that will mate the tII tranny to the N/A rear end. worth every penny, b/c i have one.

i did my swap in 3days working 8hrs a day. its very easy to do (i was taking my time) and it can be done over a weekend. just use common sense and replace ANYTHING/EVERYTHING that might need it later. it's easier to do this while its out of the car. clutch, pilot bearing, water pump etc...

go to the tech section of www.rotaryresurrection.com and kevin will have a more in depth how-to.

well if u just got the motor and u have a n/a s5 body with s5 tii motor all u need to do is swap flywheels, put the n/a flywheel on the tii, plug in all the wires that are the same just a lil shorter then tii, n/a ecu works, and n/a afm works to, but they run better with the tii ecu afm and, and fuel pump
