s5 intsrument cluster in an s4 re-pin
I recently bought an s5 cluster for my '87 n/a and I know it has to be re-pinned in order for it to work. I've searched the site because I KNOW someone has posted about this before, but I can't find anything. Can someone help me out? Or link me to another thread with the info I need?
Thanks!

Why anyone would want a pink gauge cluster , w/a non-functioning temp gauge and tach that reads to well beyond the point where they are making any power, is beyond me. But it had been done.
Seems to me you would look at a series five pinout of the White and Black plugs on a series five.
Then look at the pinouts on the series four White and Black plugs.
Then determine that there are 12 pins/wires on each plug and determine where the number 1 pin/wire is on the series four vs the series five.
On my second jpg attached I tried to more or less show that. I colored the small locater in the plug the color GOLD. Now straight opposite the GOLD located is the 12 pin/wire. And the number 1 wire is to its right.........then number 2.......then number 3 and on and on.
Part of the problem is that not all the colors are the same b/t series BUT you can see what each color wire does in life by looking up in the attached jpg at the instrument cluster and figure out what each color wire does on the series five.
My third jpg shows what each wire color does on the series FOUR cars. They failed to make a picture like this for series five. Sucks.
So you can take that info along with the list Turbo2Rotary posted and work your *** off figuring it out. It's not a straight and fwd thing imho.
EDIT: All I was trying to do in my first jpg was to show how series five number the plug. Remember the key is the KEYWAY I colored in GOLD. Shows where the number one pin/wire is.
