doesn't it fit on just the same? i didn't think the S5 IM was that much different than the S4, mostly internal

nope. the s5 manifold has vdi and flows better. to use it you will need to modify your vacume sytem to activate the vdi and will need some meens of compensating the fuel for the extra airflow. idealy you will also swap the s5 vacume sytem and ecu, tho a getto rig to activate it and an safc should do the trick also.
the big issue is getting the apropriate amout of fuel for the additional air.

You guys need to snoop in the archive section - there's a really nice thread in there on exactly what you're talking about now!

Dont mean to be a dick..but about everything you said is incorrect..
He wont need any additional fuel mods from swapping a S5 intake on his car..
You told him to swap to a S5 ECU?? Why, so his car wont run? The ECU will run in limp mode due to the lack of a signal from the electric MOP on the S5 cars..

Carl’s write up has some problems as well, and actually has been shown to lower low and mid range HP, unless some specific additional modifications are done.

There are a couple threads on this.

Basically the best way to do the swap is to use the S4 LIM, S5 VDI/UIM modified to fit the S4 LIM.

Again just bolting on the entire stock S5 intake will result in lower HP at under 5000 RPM than using the S4 system. In addition if you ever plan on doing any porting to the engine, the S5 intake is specifically tuned and will not work well with any port larger than a medium street port.

And andrew lohaus reply is really wrong. There is no real better airflow until after 5500 RPM than a S4 intake (unless again you match port the intake). There is no need what so ever to increase fuel flow as the S5 system uses the same flow injectors and there is no need what so ever to use the S5 ECU.

Andrew, please don't post bogus info like that.
