Question S5 Hybrid Turbo Lines and Fitting's

First i am runing a S4 T2 motor with pineapple racing streetport, supra fuel pump, 550cc Prim. and 1600cc Sec, BNR S5 hybrid turbo stage 4, Greddy FMIC and 3" Turbo back exaust. I am going to be running a Microtec LT10 ECU and what not just wanted to give some general info on what im working with here.

My question in about the inlets and outlets on the turbo assuming im looking at the turbo where it would connect with the IC piping i have 2 of the inlets/outlets figured out the bottom is for the coolant inlet/outlet(don't know which) and the top is for a oil inlet/outlet I think that is the inlet.

But the other 2 are my problem what i want to do with the 3 inlets/outlets, besides the bottom one for the coolant, is run SS Braided Line and AN fittings or some type of fitting that will work for the turbo, but i dont know what size/gauge of the SS braided line i should use for each inlet/outlet or the size/gauge of the fittings?

Im just trying to get the turbo lines and connections finished berfore i put the motor/tranny in that way i can move it out my friends shop and finish wiring the microtec and install it in my Garage so i dont take up all of the space and pay storage fee's.

If anyone can give me some feedback i would really appreciate it, anyway thanks for taking the time to read about my problem.

I used stock lines with my hybrid turbo. Works fine nothing rubs, going through making lines for your car will be a pain and cost a lot!

Top is the oil pressure feeding hte bearing housing. bottom is the return to the oilpan

The front and rear are the coolant lines, have fun making those out of ss with fittings

First of all, you do know that this is going to cost probably over $200 and take many hours to assemble right? There's lots of tedious cutting and measuring. It's kind of pointless on a stock turbo or hybrid IMO. You should just use the stock lines, even though the oil drain is a huge bitch. But if you really want to...

Now maybe i'm not understanding from what perspective you are talking about, but looking at the compressor housing straight ahead, but from memory on my stock s5 turbo at least the oil inlet was on the top, the oil drain was on the bottom, I think the coolant feed was on the left, and the coolant return was on the right. The coolant return is half hard line (barbed) and half rubber hose from the factory and the feed is one hard line that connects to the side of the intake manifold.

Oil feed should be 4AN, oil return should be 10AN, coolant feed and return should be 6AN.

Check this out for screw in fittings: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me..._Code=ATP-FTG1

now check this out for weld-on fittings:

http://www.racepartssolutions.com/products.asp?cat=20

The oil feed source needs to come from the top of the front iron like stock. For the oil feed on the block, I believe I used this fitting: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me..._Code=ATP-FTG2 but you will need to use a die to change the threads to a 1.50 pitch. It worked like a charm. No leaks. Then you'll need to buy 4AN hose and assemble it using 90 degree hose ends and some kind of adapter for the stock oil feed (don't know the stock oil feed thread, if it's threaded at all, otherwise a T25 style or T3 style feed flange might work). You could get away with a pre cut oil feed line but you can't for the oil return line.

Somebody else can confirm, I think the oil return flanges on both the stock turbo CHRA and the front cover are T3/T4 style, so you'd want two of this type of flange: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Funct...QQcmdZViewItem . And then you will need 10AN hose and probably one straight and one 45 degree hose end.

The coolant hoses will be tricky. I blocked mine off for my oil cooled T4 turbo, but you would probably want to weld a 6AN fitting on to the water pump housing barb for the return line. For the coolant feed, if you want it to come from the stock location you would probably want to purchase a split-air blockoff plate (which is normally used to block off the stock coolant feed), then drill and tap for maybe 3/8 NPT (or weld on a fitting). Then you will need all the appropriate adapters. I don't know what the thread is for the coolant lines on the turbo, but they are probably M14.

If you have never assembled any custom AN lines expect a lot of frustration here if you don't order every single part correctly and measure everything exactly right the first time.

yep. thats why i'm glad i live about 5 minutes away from jegs. i had to go there and buy/return fittings about 5 times to get my fuel system correct.

use the stock lines. they are fine.
