VA s5 hard to start , misfires on start up .

1990 GXL , previous owner rebuilt motor ... No paper work of proof . wondering as to why i have to press the gas to start my car .. then when it turns on it runs super rich like and backfires / has very littler power under load / until about 30 sec - 1 minute of revving the car snaps out rich mode or whatever craziness its doing and drives and idles fairly normal . but if i tap the gas the rpms drop i have smog pump still , with a few vac leaks ...

is it allways hard starts like this with the bad running for 30ish seconds?
or does this only happen after sitting a couple hours, or a day?( cold starts)

does it do it if u shut it off and start it right back up when its warm?

I would definitely fix leaks first, reguardless

is there any check engine light? or codes?

no Check engine Lights , and honestly i think it may have something to do with a coolant sensor ? seems that as long as i top off my coolant before i start my car it doest do the rich start for as long or at all , my radiator has pinhair crack , buzzer goes off about 1 every week if i dont fill coolant everyday , working on getting koyo rad soon ... it misfires , sounds like popcorn popping in my exhaust lol . and doesnt matter , anytime i start it , after 30 min drive , after cold start , and after i warm up and shut off and start it will still be hard to start . Ive replaced Oem Injectors with Serviced OEM injectors , Fuel Filter ,plugs , wires , air filter , one of local rotary guy tried to adjust my tps .. i just hope its from my rats nest being 3/4 hooked up correctly =/ i am missing 5th 6th port solenoid as well as 2 other solenoids for the top rack .. which means ive got about 3-4 vac caps on things that should be hooked up !

sounds like a BAC or AWS solenoid that is plumbed to atmosphere.

if not, compression test.

vac leaks can cause a low and/or irratic idle and drivability issues. there's no point in making life difficult and attempting to diagnose other possible issues until you get those leaks fixed. a smoke machine works best to find all of them. quik start works also, but smoke is better

thanks , i will get the vac leaks taken care of as soon as i get my hands on some Emission solenoids , the emission solenoids are the only thing from holding me back from fixing the vac leaks ..
