Trying to find out if this front lip will fit an S5 stock front bumper without modifications:

To me, it looks like there is a 1-1.5 inch edge in the middle of the bumper, suggesting that this lip was made for an s4 bumper. Am i wrong??

that lip is for a s4 bumper

 

no that lip is not for S4 bumper

it is designed for s5 bumper

s4 bumper on the bottom goes all the way through the front, it doesn't cut back in the middle

the guy taht used to origanlly make that lip says it will fit both but looks a little weird on s4

That's funny, the picture the OP linked to was taken by a forum member who sold that lip and front bumper. He also specifically mentioned that the lip he had for sale did not fit the S5 front end. Not to mention I've seen that "style" of lip on more S4 cars than anything else.

that lip in the first pic used to be mine...i bought it new and sold it to gxl87turbo who had it for sale a couple weeks ago. its a s4 lip. hers a pic of it on a s4 bumper sitting on the front of my car.

 

Thanks, i was about to buy it for my s5... seller said it will fit however the picture looked odd.

 

It actually is an s5 lip that will work on an s4...it follows the lines of the s5 bumper perfectly, it was made for the s5. Can it be used as an s4 lip? Absolutely, but the pic of the red s5 above proves my point.

if you look at the picture the center section doesnt line up. that other lip on the s5 bumper is different from this one.



i think i would know being the one who bought it new. they had 2 different lips, one for s4 and one for s5. sure it will fit on either one, but it wont line up right with a s5. have whoever bought it post a pic on a s4 bumper, it doenst look quite right on mine because it was cut for a fmic. im sure it lines up perfectly w. a s4

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that you guys are arguing over two different lips. The best way to resolve this issue would be for the seller to take pics of the lip on both an s4 and s5.

best method measure the center gap and then we can measure teh center gap on
S5

 

in the above picture he is holding it crooked angled downward

if it were bolted up it will sit very square

but again could be similar design different lip

 

Well I have no idea.. l o l like i said i am making my own lip. But the lip in the pic looks nice at leasy.
