S5 FC high rpm issue?
Ignition breaking up in the upper range could be a lot of stuff. The FSM has a pretty good troubleshooting section, where you can identify likely culprits. You can also check engine trouble codes. FSM at rotaryheads.com
A good place to start would be checking for vacuum/boost leaks. If the engine is getting a different ratio of air than it thinks it has, things can get goofy, especially at higher RPM.
