S5 engine into S4? What else do i need?
to start out, i did search but came up with very little.
ok, i just purchaced a s5 engine from a fellow board member, it came out with all of the accesories that bolt to the engine, the engine wireing harness, and the computer. i am just wondering if there is anything special that i need to do? like do i use the variable resistor? what about egr? and do i need to change anything inside the cabin? like the insturment panel? because the s5 engine has a 8000 rpm redline and has a check engine lamp. i just dont want to f*** anything up. thanks alot!

to make the harness work correctly, and still pass CA emissions you will also need to replace the interior and underhood wiring, as the S5 engine harness will not match up to the S4 body and front harnesses.
Or custom match plugs and pins in the spots where the harnesses join.
You will need to decide what you want to spend and what year engine emissions you will want.
CA does allow a newer engine to be put in, but also requires all emissions to match the year of the engine. Using a S5 engine therfore would rule out the EGR valve, but would require all S5 emissions and electronics to be used.
