S5 autobelt problem...........

I know there's a recall, not the problem. My friends 90 coupe has a stuck mouse belt at the front of the A pillar. He doesn't want to drive it to the dealer(50 miles away from his house) like that because he isn't getting any safety from the belt. Its all highway time to the dealer so its ~65mph all the way which is dangerous without a belt. Is there a way that you can manually move the belt clip back to the B pillar area so that he can drive with some safety? I'm searching through the FSM but haven't found the belt section yet.....

search turned up recall **** not this...

the motor is behind the panel behind the door. you'll see a circular cap kinda like the sunroof has. pop it off and crank it back.
