S5 Alt on S4

S5 Alt on S4
I searched on the forums and on line I cant find that I need to wire up a s5 alt. to a s4 wiring harness. Doing a S5 Turbo swap and I want to use the S5 Alt and the plugs dont match I have wiring diagrams from S4 & S5 so please let me know so I can splice the wires and connect them. Also I have a Wiring harness from a 86 N/A that had the injector box for low imp. injectors. It's goin into a 88 vert with hi imp. injectors and no injector box. Do I need that silver jumper box to use that wiring harness or am I good with out it. I cant find these to answer on these 2 topics and I've been searchin for months. Nobody seems to know the answer to this answer. Thank

The Black/White wire in the two wire plug (S4) of the alternator goes to constant voltage. An S4 alternator would have the B/W wire going to "switched power" but this is changed for the S5 B/W wire. Again, for the S5 alt. the B/W wire goes to "constant" voltage (we're talking engine fuse box here).
With regards to the search function are you using the "advanced" search feature?

The re-wiring diagram is in the FAQ: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...72#post5131072.
Change the B/W wire to a fused constant source & swap the S4 B-post onto the S5 alternator for easy hook-up with the existing ring terminal.

So basically get on of those fuse terminal things like they use for amps to the battery for car stereo set ups but the thin wired ones and run it like that is what you sayin RR88. If that is correct thank you, if not can you run it by me once again so I see it clearly in my head. Thanks again for the help Ive been searching with the advanced search and I still cant find what I'm lookin for and RR88 just gave me the answer I need but I wanna be sure I got it right before I do it...
Thank you.
Thank you.

Ok searching with the advance has turned for the best even though it still give me the run around but I was on Rotary Resurrection and found this post where HAILES Said to jump the 5 wires for the injector resistor pack.
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...s+injector+box.
With that being said how do I do it just solder all 5 wires together? Sorry for the noob try questions I have one shot at this swap and I dont want to blow my engine.
Rotary Resurrection talkin about injectors and the wiring harness.
IF using HI injectors on a LI harness, you must unplug the resistor pack. Next, locate the supply wire in the center of 5 terminals. Bridge jumper wires from this terminal to each of the 4 outlying terminals, which basically completes the circuit without resistors, carrying the HI injectors' 12-13 ohm load directly to the ECU just as a HI harness would.
Thanks once again!!!

I knew I should have made a write up lol.... I might do it tomorrow. If you have questions PM me or RotaryRocket88. It's really easy if you don't let your car intimidate you. Would be happy to help just need to know how.

For the fused 12V source, you can just run a wire to the empty slot in the fuse box. Solder a female spade connector onto your wire, and push it into the black plug on the under side of the box. Now pick up a 30A automotive fuse from Autozone, etc... and put it in the slot. You could also run an in-line fuse on a wire directly to the battery, but the first way is a little cleaner.
To bypass the resistor pack, look at the 5-pin plug on the harness. Make 5 short wires with spade connectors, and stick one on each pin. Now solder the other end of all 5 together and wrap it up.

Well you're in luck. I have a pic from my starter relay bypass: https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...7&postcount=58. The big red wire would run to your alternator's voltage regulator instead. It can be a smaller gauge wire though.
