S4 waterpump and housing ?'s

S4 waterpump and housing ?'s

so i remeber reading somewhere but cant seem to find it, but something about 2 thin brass washers that are placed behind the waterpump housing as spacers and if u forget them then the housing will leak?? I am about to install a Tii S4 waterpump and waterpump housing and i need to know if i need the washers and are they special wahsers (like dealer special) or are they normal looking washers? please and thanks.

they are very thin washers. 2 of them and they are about .010" thick.

they go on the 2 long studs that come out of the block and go into the wp, they are the only 2 bolts thats don't have any contact with the gasket face

thanks i now know where they go. By the way for future ref. OEM dealer part number is 15-081(b) the (b) is right beside the OEM # on the diagram at the dealer idk if the (b) actually means anything though, and if u ever have to buy them you'll need 2.

I just mentioned these washers in a recent thread where someone had the front housing bracket break near where one of these washers go. Much worse than a leak. For the record, *very* important.
