S4 vs S5 weight

What actual items, structural difference makes the S5 heavier than the S4 of the same model ?

I was just curious because everyone seems to say the S4 is lighter.

One difference is the electric seat belts on the s5. That has got to add weight. All the motors cables etc...

I believe that there is an extra reinforcement on the doors as well.

As covered before: ... hint hint hint... coughsearch, cough

The S5 got additional metal (and thicker metal) in the dash for dash re-enforcement (because of the passive restraint systems), additional metal in the b-pillar, roof, and base of the B pillar and through the A pillars.

There were also increases in the gas tank, seats, changes to the suspension and mounts for the bars, carpet, insulation, dropping things like the uderlichet german made jack and alloy spares. In addition the M50N tranny is supposed to be a few lbs heavier and of course the VDI intake way off set any weight savings in the motor.

It all added up to about 150 to 200 lbs heavier on average, but many people claim in also made the car more refined and isolated from the road.
