S4 vs S5 radiator ?
I pulled a radiator from a car at the pull a part. Must have been an S5. It has the filler neck on the left side. My problem is that the temp sensor at the bottom of my S4 rad isn't on the S5. I assume that the sensor is for the idiot lights on the center of the dash. Because I am fairly sure that the temp gauge sensor is on the left side of the block over by the oil filler tower.
What does the S5 do to replace that sensor. Is it a different location or is it eliminated all together? Any suggestions about what to do with the sensor and wires that I have on my 86? I could just leave it unhooked I guess.

That sensor is for the 3K RPM start up only.
Many S4 owners simply disconnect it.
The ECU gets its coolant temp from the back of the water pump outlet.
The dash gauge sensor is near the oil pressure sender, below the oil filter.
The ECU & the thermowax will still give you a cold start fast idle.
