s4 vert to s5 coupe taillights

Ok so I know if I go from a s4 vert to s5 coupe lights I will lose my keyhole because of the difference in the light lengths. But would it be possible for me to drill a hole for my keyhole to set in or would the depth of the light possibly get in the way with that?

Just get s5 vert lights. Drilling the coupe lights would look bad unless you spent time beveling the hole then wet sanding and polishing it smooth, potentially risk cracking the lens, cutting sheet metal behind the old vert center section might be necessary, will probably make the lights nearly impossible to seal, create problems trying to mount the lock cylinder, etc..

When there's a bolt-in option out there, why go through all the trouble?

The keyhole stays in place with the lights removed so mounting isn't a problem, the problem is listed above.it would end up in a dead area of the taillight so dont think it would interfere with operation . if you went into it with the thinking that you might trash the light if it doesn't look good go for it
