S4 Turbo vs S5 Turbo IMs.. much difference power-wise?

I have the opportunity to pick up a set of S5 Turbo2 intakes (LIM and UIM). I know they have slightly longer runners, but would there be any noticable power increase with these from my S4 intakes?

im sure there are some gains however small, but i have a set on mine (jspec s5 intakes), and im afraid that they are causing my whistle ... due to the surfaces not matching up completely

im going back to s4 intakes, as im sure whatever gains are there, they are minute

No real world gains, no.

If there were no "real world gains", Mazda wouldn't have gone to all the trouble and expense to completely redesign and retool a different manifold. I'm sure it'll make a difference, but not necessarily enough to warrant the swap unless you can pick it up cheap and you have to remove the IM anyway.

The runners are longer and fatter. You can see the differences in this thread.

The S5 LIM wont properly mate up with the S4 block, though, right?

The difference on most stock or lightly modded engines is going to be less than 5hp. Do you think you can feel 5hp in a real world street application? Next thing you'll be telling us is that those cone filters really *do* make hondas fast.

If it doesn't make a difference that warrants the swap, it's not a real world difference

Whatever it is, I assume it is private and should thus be discussed via PMs. Thanks.
