Question s4 turbo ll modding questions .

i just picked up my 87 all stock turbo 2 with 92k on it now . i daily drive it . runs good fixed a few vacumm leaks since i got it . now i want to start modding it , only mod i have is a apxi bov and removed my main cat cause it was clogged . now i wanna start doing little things to it . to me the car is not a "fast car " or close to that . i herd of s5 turbo on s4s also

does the s5 turbo bolt right up to the s4 turbo?
i want to do lightweight flywheel with a 6 puck clutch . dont know if the lightweight flywheel will make a diffrence on these cars
i will be putting a 3 " custom turbo back exhuast downpipe strait to n1 style muffler single exit .
i want to keep my top mount to keep the car orignial as possible on the outside .

compression is good on the motor i dont want to push it too far idk how much a stock motor can hande . looking to take it to the track and do 14s with it . i would like to see what other people have for mods on daily driven turbo 2s thanks .

skip all that. port your wastegate (free) and buy a used haltech. that way its all plug and play except for the fuel pump and a few other misc things you need to wire. then you can sell your stock electronics for some good money and buy suspension.

after a tune you have a daily driver that runs high 12s in the 1/4 and gets stock or better gas mileage.

most importantly do the reliability mods before the go fast. (cooling, stopping, gen' maint' systems.)

seriously?

skip the puck clutch unless you like whiplash and an unenjoyable car. only go with puck clutches if you need extreme traction from your clutch, otherwise stick with full face clutches which can still hold WELL beyond what your stock turbo will be capable of.

as mentioned forget the S5 turbo, it has the same efficiency as your S4 turbo but it does have a better wastegate design, still not enough of a bonus to need to switch to it though as porting the wastegate usually works just fine.

lightweight flywheels also cause the car to bog off of stops, the stock flywheel really isn't that bad unless your car lives in the upper RPM range and transitions throttle alot like you would on the track. aside from that there is no realistic benefit.

that exhaust mentioned will be raspy, loud and obnoxious. you will grow to hate it very quickly(i already know i will hate it so stay the **** away from me).

the stock 2nd gen motor is capable of handling about 400whp before either pinning it or if you are lucky enough to have a large cast boss for the rear iron upper pin.

what you should be asking is how to keep a boosted motor in one piece while doing upgrades compared to asking dumb questions about bolt ons. removing the cat already shows me you are well on your way already...

perhaps one day you will stop living in the ghetto and want to modify the car right.

LOL . wat a answer . i wasnt trying to modify my car the ghettoway . i actually want todo **** the right way the cat was clogged its a 25 year old car . but anyways ill stay away from the lightweight flywheel . as for clutch ill keep looking . ive had alot of 6 puck clutchs just like how they feel and hold up more heat than organic . dont mind it for daily . is there a write up on how to port the wastegate? i dont want more than 200 or 220 whp daily driven on 93 octane gas .

As for 93 octane... Fuel has always been a very debatable subject on this forum.

you may get less boost than you currently have but that is where boost controllers come in.

If you do go with the 3 inch exhaust be sure to get Fuel Management (haltech, Rtek) or a FCD because it will increase your boost and I'm pretty sure you don't want your fuel being cut off with boost spike.
