I wanted to know if it was possible to run the s4 turbo with out the water cooler lines or if it needs those.

I think you need them as I believe it uses the coolant to help cool the turbo housing.

first your bumps have been deleted. Bumps are forbidden here in the 2nd gen technical section.

The reason for the coolant lines is to prevent overheating and coking of the bearings and oil lines.

Running without the coolant lines will result in the bearings failing early on the stock turbo, and will require use of a Turbo timer when using the stock turbo without coolant lines.

No you should definitely NOT run the stock turbo without the coolant lines. Turbos that are designed without water cooling have a lot more oil flowing through them to aid in cooling. A turbo timer with not do jack to help you.

there isnt enough fluid flowing thru to cool the bearings under boost
on a watercooled setup, the oil's job is to just lubricate with coolant doing most, if not all the cooling

now you take the water away, the oil will not cool it sufficiently

major wear

you can city drive it, easily, fine... but...
