S4 Tps... Safc/afr

Well, I have been reading the problems of running a SAFC on a S4 because of it lacking the tune ablilty. But Has anyone had any problems the HKS AFR? Or will it be the same for any A/F controller?

I have found a few write ups on adding the second tps to the gas pedal. Has anyone tried swapping the S5 tps into a S4, but still using the mechanical oil pump? I have read that you need to remove that and use premix.

If anyone know of any good write ups on this I would really appreciate it. I really did not come up with much here, just maybe a thread or 2 about it..

I am in between the two. Actually one it is really stupid, I hate the color and how it looks so I would spend the few extra bucks for the Ltd Edt one, second if the HKS AFR does not have a problem with the TPS I am sure I will go with that one then..On top of that the HKS is cheaper, I know its older though.....

Anyone have there set up by boost pressure? And do you know if it is more reliable?

not sure if you're the same guy from teamfc3s but...

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ressure+sensor

Dale was the first I've heard of to do it on a FC. Using a map sensor for the TPS input on the safc has been around for a long time. DSM and honda guys still do it if they're running the stock ecu.

Yeah I got that one, but it doesn't sound complete. Does it work? Also how long did it take you?

Do you know if the same is done for the HKS AFR?

look in the archives and you'll find even more threads on it. It's simple, instead of tying into the TPS wire on the ecu you run a wire to the pressure sensor and tie into it before the FCD.

Yes it definitely works.

Mounting the safc and splicing all the wires took about an hour and a half.

Don't get the HKS unit, the apexi is better. But yes I imagine the same thing could be done. All the TPS sensor is sending back to the SAFC is a voltage. The TPS and pressure sensor both work on 0-5 volts.

Thanks! You've been a big help! I might call upon you if i fall into some trouble. What makes the SAFC better than the AFR?

the hks unit is older and is less versatile. It doesn't have the degree of flexibility the apexi safc does. Feel free to PM me, it's not too hard of an install at all.

Do you know in what ways it is less versatile and flexiable?
