S4 TII still smoking after turbo rebuild...

So i have an 88 S4 TII.... engine has good compression, uses a little coolant and oil however this sort of seems normal for an older rotary.

I have blue smoke at idle sometimes, and allways after boosting, when i let the engine return to idle (ie at a stoplight etc). I figured it was the turbo, it was a little loose so i rebuilt it, reinstalled it and have the same problem. I am thinking that it could possibly be the turbo again, since when i plug up the oil line to the turbo, the smoke seems to stop for the most part.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I am thinking it still may be the turbo but i am unsure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could intermittent smoke at idle be anything other then the turbo? Hopefully its not engine rebuild time?

Thanks,
brandon

Could easily be your internal oil control-rings. Bad turbo oil-seals usually smoke all the time. Bad engine oil-seals (control rings) seem to smoke on start-up and after idling for a while. Do you smell gas in your oil? Oil in your gas? Easily fouled/oily spark-plugs?
