s4 tII rear end and tranny in a s5 n/a vert.
See post #4. Get the TII rear end and bolt it in with the engine once you get that. You could re-use the clutch stuff, but would probably end up with an extra flywheel. No use putting the rear end ahead of time and having to put a TII flywheel and clutch in before you need it.

OK, then post #4 is not a bad idea then. Just make sure that when you switch from the NA to TII flywheel you don't have to mess with the front counterweight. I don't remember myself, but have seen threads on this. GL.
Under certain conditions, when changing flywheels, you have to change the front counterweight. You may not have to do this, but I can't say for sure. Search to be sure.
Yes, the S5 engine will bolt up to the S4 rear end.

Can I install the Turbo II transmission into an NA?
Certainly. But you need to also install:
-TII flywheel, clutch, pressure plate
-TII slave cylinder
-TII starter
-TII driveshaft, differential, axels
-Adapt the wiring."

The car is an S5 and the drivetrain is out of a S4 TII. I left the counter weight on and bolted an ACT prolite flywheel. Installing a light flywheel to the auto counterweight will be alot easier than pulling off the flywheel nut. You will have to remember to install a pilot bearing because I almost forgot. And I believe convertables don't need a bracket for the transmission crossmember. But the drivetrains are interchangeable regardless of series as long as you use either all TII or All N/A parts. And by the way the autos have a 3.90 rear end ratio.

S4 engine to S5 TII trans.Light flywheels and TII clutch pressure plate.Conversion shaft to let the tII Trans go to an N/a LSD..(just a different Variation).**** can be done..just have to use the Right parts..(conversion shaft can be Bought From Mazdatrix,or get one made..TII front Yoke and N/A rear coupler to mate it to the Diff.)

what is the pressure plate?
and if i have to install a clutch and flywheel on the tranny, do i have to pull out the engine to put in a flywheel on the counterweight?

are you sure you arent in over your head? you not knowing what the pressure plate is could be a huge problem if you want to do a Tii swap.
to answer the question, no you dont have to pull the engine, but you have to buy and install a lightweight flywheel if you want to keep your counterweight. if you want to put a stocker on, you must remove the counterweight and bolt the stock one onto the shaft. either way, dont forget to put a pilot bearing in!!!
