S4 TII just isn't running right.

Ok, I'll do this in sequence:

After sitting for a while, the car will start up fine, and will idle fine as well for the most part. It'll bounce up/down 50rpm from the preset 750rpm idle.

Now, if I really give her some gas, even in neutral, then she will basically just cut out, A/F gauge is usually right at the beginning of the rich region, but once I floor it, it goes all the way to the beginning of lean and goes blank, and the motor will stall unless I either let go of the throttle or release it a bit, then it will run fine again.

Now, my first thought is - secondary injectors should be kicking in right there and then, so, either they are providing too much fuel and can't burn it all, therefore it dies, or, they just aren't engaging and in turn it's trying to just run off air and will die. The A/F gauge would suggest the latter, however I'm not sure if it does what it does because it's actually detecting a lean mixture, or if it's because the motor just dies and so it's not reading anything.

Also, when I do floor it and it wants to die, it'll give out a puff of smoke (not white, not really blue, just some grey smoke). It will idle fine without much smoke (granted, I'm running an RB exhaust.)

It doesn't matter what RPM it's at, I can have it revving at 4,500 by slowly increasing throttle, and then if I put it to the floor, again it will want to just shut off. So like I said, I'm thinking the secondaries are just out of whack for whatever reason. Faulty MAF? Maybe a wire's come off somewhere? Maybe it's got dirt in it or something? I'm just throwing out some normal piston ideas here, I'm a total n00b when it comes to rotaries.

Also, when I give her a bit of gas and the RPMs climb, then the whole car will shake. It's not TOO bad, but it's kinda bad. As soon as it passes 2,000rpm, that shaking will stop, and I do believe up to about 3,000rpm it's pretty much non-existant, however past that it will start to shake again, however not as bad as it does below 2,000rpm.

It's an '88 TII, and compression is 90-100psi so I don't think it's quite pooched yet.

Thanks for any help in advance.

the secondary s should not be kicking in. It is pore grounds on the emissions harness and motor harness and a mis adjusted TPS

You're sure of this?

And so secondaries should be kicking in at 3800rpm no matter how much throttle input it's getting?

Fair enough, I'll check those things.

Also, this is probably that whole leaky injectors issue, but:

If I run the car for a bit, doesn't really matter how long I THINK, say, a minute, or, say 15 minutes, and I shut it off, it has a really hard time restarting right after. If I let it sit for 15-20 minutes, it will start up fine. Flooding due to leaking injectors, or...?
