s4 tii into s4 gxl shell

hey. this is my little problem. and i was wondering if anyone has experience with this swap.

so i have a 88 gxl and i blew the motor about 10 months ago. finally after sitting for about 6 months i finally decided to go ahead and get a 87 tii. came with motor, tranny, ecu harness and everything basically to swap it in. but after getting everything in, im now having trouble with the wiring. the harness that came with the motor was all splices up. so i got a new one. so i put that in and the tii battery harness( one that connects to the starter and body harness) it didnt work. she didnt even try to crank over. but then i decided, why not use the n/a battery harness. so i gave that a shot and POOOOOOOOFFFF.smoke out of the engine bay and i fry my engine harness. ****. the n/a harness cranked over one time. got out and bam, that happened.

anyone knows what happened or if i should just go standalone. i was thinking power fc. but i have no clue if the power fc would fix my problem.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks vijet.

sounds to me like you grounded out a power wire somewhere.... did you check all the fuses to see which one/s blew? that should let you know the which wires to trace to see where the problem is..... to my knowledge, the only big difference from the t2 harness and na is the alternator is run on the engine harness on the na, and the body harness for the t2..... good luck (i suck at electrical)

i have been told by plenty of people you can use the NA harness you just need to extend 2 wires ( not positive yet on which wires but i will know soon.. ) as i am in the process of doing the same exact swap.
i actually am receiveing my motor tomorrow. 10/3 i cant wait to start on it.

try rotaryresurrection.com i think they go over which wires you need to extend.. it would be underneath the "TECH" section under "NA to turbo conversion."
