s4 thermoswitch.
Are they durable?? Are they pronge to fail??
I am looking for one and undecided to buy new (lots of money) or used.
Also, I am currently running a 185F switch (triggered my fan too early) and someone told me, if I put a 90degree brass fitting then it'll delayed my fan by 10degrees (triggered @ 195F-ish).
Myth??
Thanks

Have you pulled it and tested it as per the FSM?
Mine has logged 171k and it just finally went (i think) so they are pretty durable.
I'm going through this so here

If you're looking for one I've got an S4 thermoswitch I just pulled from my car a couple of weeks ago. Worked just fine, even ran my e-fan off of it for a while until I switched to an S5 to simplify my wiring. Anyway if you're interested I'll send it your way for 15+shipping.
And as far as the brass fitting thing goes I have no clue, but it sounds kind of bogus to me. Assuming you've got a water temp gauge then give it a try and let us know.
