S4 T2 wastegate hose

ok i was driving home and my car started to jerk. then on the exit of the freeway. i was at the stop sign of the exit. it seem like it had no power so i got home and parked it then i saw alot of smoke coming out the exhaust and under the hood so i turned it off as soon as i saw smoke and poped the hood and saw that the rubber hoses for the wastegate have been ripped or come off. can that make the car run this way or do i have bigger problems? plus it smelled like gas and i thought i was going catch on fire.

It would cause a vacuum leak, which can make a car run rough, but not smoke. You have another issue, especially if you smell gas. Check over EVERYTHING carefully. Pay particular attention to the pulsation damper and fuel hoses, along with your cooling system.

Well if the hose to the actuator was off, then that means the wastegate wasn't opening and you may have hit higher boost than stock. Fuel cut happens when boost gets too high, and you may have detonated on your rear rotor, which could spell engine failure. Check everything out and do a compression test to make sure your seals are still good.

How long has the line been off or ripped? Did you ever hit full boost during that period? I'm assuming you have just the stock boost gauge. Having an FCD is definitely not good news either. I would check compression ASAP before you waste your time doing anything else.

If it really was only 6 miles and you didn't hit full boost you couldn't have done any damage to the engine. You can hook your AEM gauge up to a vacuum line and see how much vacuum its pulling for a rough indicator. You can also do a rough compression check by removing the plugs and hearing the pulses of the engine. Google Aaron Cake and go to his website to find out more info.

It sounds like the engine is done. Take out a spark plug from the front and rear rotor and pull out your EGI fuse. Crank the engine over and see what it sounds like. You should hear 6 really good "whooshes". I'm betting one of them is really weak. :/ You'll be able to notice real fast if the compression is lower on one of the rotors from the sounds it makes.

Yes a bad plug will make it run like a blown motor, only one of the leadings though.

Get new plugs. Once they are fouled, they are fouled.

Sounds like you may be down an injector.

what was the result of the compression test? White smoke is never a good sign. white smoke is coolant in the combustion process. is it smoking constantly or just at start up?

White smoke can be caused by flooding. The only time it's a coolant issue is when it accompanies actual coolant loss.

What do the new plugs look like after a little bit of running?

you can get a compression gauge from advance auto or something for like $20 if that. I would go get one.

also, take off the intercooler and see if it's filled with oil or coolant, you might have blown your turbo.

FWIW, mine ran alot like yours when I was having injector issues (rough idle, slow to rev)...
I ended up having the wires to 2 of the injectors cracked due to age and heat.
