all 13B housings are the same with these exceptions:

S4/S5 turbo housings have ports at the water jackets to feed water to the turbo, they can be plugged up if not needed
S4 housings have less split between the spark plugs as the S5/S6 do
RE housings have slightly earlier port timing than all other rotor housings the port sleeves are junk and should be swapped with turbo port sleeves, the port timing just makes porting quicker and easier
S5/S6 rotor housings have a more hardened chromoly sleeve face that allows them to wear slower


in short, yes you can, but the ignition timing will be slightly affected. if you're going to run a S4/S5 turbo though you will need to drill the water passages out if you run non turbo housings, if you are not running a coolant cooled turbo then the reverse is what you need(plug them with a 19mm freeze plug, rubber cone plug or just seal it against the LIM and block the passages), not a big deal.

yes they do, if what your saying is using s4 t2 housings on re irons. you just have to make sure to use the same series housing due to s4 having diff spark plug location than the s5/s6/cosmo housings.

the spark plug split is mainly for fuel consumption, the trailings are what burn off the excessive fuel that the leadings do not catch. the difference in plug split in the housing is due to the compression differences in the engines.

basically meaning you may see a .2mpg difference if not using low compression rotors or tuning the plug split timing. not really worth doing, just be sure not to mix the housings, ie a S4 and S5/6 housing to build an engine, you may wind up with a broken side seal(i have experienced this building a jspec and using a USDM housing to replace a dead one, jspec housings all have S5/6 plug locations as another exception).
