Good luck finding a decent plastic one as well. I've been searching for an S5 one in SoCal for over a year.

I would think 56-111B was the plastic part that was stock on all FCs, and 56-11Y is the Sport aluminum extra piece. Which, given that I looked up the plastic piece as FB01-56-111C in a 1991 parts catalog, seems to be a correct assumption. I would doubt the Sport piece is still available though. I suppose it only takes a quick call to a dealer to find out though.

Someone posted a while back that there were a few available, but they are in the $400 range.

Hmmm well the price Mazdamotorsports listed as dealer price was $81 I cannot post the racers price per Mazda drivers development rules, but obviously it's less. Tomorrow I'm going to call the dealer and see.

Are you talking about the plastic piece, or aluminum?

Edit, I looked back over.

But that's strange that a piece that was only offered on S4 sport models is cheaper than a piece that was on every FC made.

Something that may help some folks, I have successfully plastic welded a few of the plastic under-trays. I used an old soldering iron with a spoon tip. Heat it up, mix it around, flatten it out. Nasty fumes though. Fixes have been permanent for me.

I'm interested. Prefer one in bare aluminum without the door if practical.

With the right tools, probably. Looks like a flat sheet that was formed against a die, then had a bunch of details trimmed out on a second die. Initial tooling costs would be steep though.

You know, I have one of these sport trays in pretty decent shape that I am intending on cutting to modify to fit my Vert (the cross support is in the way to install as designed. As seen in the pictures below, I had to bend the front mounting arms in mocking it up. But they bent back into original shape with little effort.

I have the full sport package otherwise on my S4 TurboVert as seen in my profile. So this would complete it. But I'm torn about cutting up one of these in the first place considering it's in really good condition that someone else could use as is.

To the OP, do you think you could produce one of your units but with the rear section simple flat aluminum i could mark up and cut? Drilling mounting holes on thelip of the cross brace to complete mount of the undertray would be simple enough.

Pictures of what I'm up against installing it:
