S4->S5 water pump housing.
I wanted to know if anyone has changed their S5 housing to an S4 housing on their TII's or N/a's for that matter. Will they bolt up? I really don't like the look of my S5's plastic filler neck and don't want to buy a new plastic because it will get like that eventually. i wanted to use the S4's aluminum housing/neck to eliminate that weak spot. Also a secondary question. Will the S4 N/a water pump housing work with my S5 TII? Since my aftermarket turbo is likely not going to have water cooling I can get around having to cap the fitting on the S5's housing for the stock turbo.

You are talking about the “Thermostat housing” right?
They are not interchangeable. The S5 housing is 3 bolts and the S4 is 2 bolt.
However, I took a die grinder to my S4 Thermostat housing and was able to make it fit on the S5 water pump. I just moved the mounting holes in a cm or so and only used two of the holes from the S5 pump for mounting. It is slightly off center, but I don’t think that will be a problem because there appears to be sufficient gasket surface area. I have not had the car up to operating temperature for any longer than a few minuets, but I don’t foresee any problems.
The only reason I did it, was because I am using an S4 radiator and needed a filler neck.
It is sort of a ghetto rig, but it works. I can get you pics if you want.
Or do you want to swap the pumps themselves? I believe you have to change the entire front cover for that. In which case you would run into problems with the OMP.

There are three parts. The pump which has the impeller on it, the pump housing which the pump bolts to, and the filler/neck which is plastic ont he S5's and on the S4 is aluminum. I want to swap all three parts. I already know that the "neck parts" are not interchangable but I want to know if the whole setup can be swapped.
