So i have a S5 motor and the tranny recently went out so i need a new one. I found this guy that has one for cheap but its a S4.. He tells me that they are the same but i feel they are different in some ways.. like bolt pattern or what not.

I was just wondering if a S4 tranny will Bolt right up to a S5 motor without any issues now or in the future.

You will need to swap the transmission crossmember/rear mount from yours to bolt into the transmission tunnel. Fifth gear will have a different gear ratio.

 

The crossmember is different on the trans side, so you need the S4 crossmember.
