s4/s5 rear diff interchange??

I've done some searching and can't really seem to find any concrete info...

Is there a list anywhere of 3rd members and/or r&p's from other vehicles that can be swapped into s4/s5's to change/swap the rear ratio's?! (I've noticed the SA/FB guys have more than a few options..)

so you want a different final drive or a complete diff?

do you want more or less top speed?

do you have turbo or NA?

Most engine swap guys have given up on the FC diffs and install Cobra diffs instead...stronger and a wide selection of ratios.
Look here.

Thx guys, but I'm specifically looking for a bolt-in interchange/swap...like how the SA/FB guys can swap in KIA/Hyundai, B2200-2600, and Ranger diffs...and I'm mostly looking for NA stuff.

but you didnt answer the question..

do you only want a different final drive?
or what is the reasen for you wanting something different?

with a NA, you can swap in a Miata Torsen LSD.
there are also 3 FC gearsets available.
3.9 form an auto
4.1 standard
4.3 grom a GTU i believe

I want 4.77 or higher, w/LSD...I've read of a guy with 5.12-ish in his FB (or maybe it was an Rx-3, idk)...hmmmmm
*rubs-chin-and-grins*

Bottom line: I don't care what car the 3rd member is from just as long as its got the ratios and bolts-up!

it's tough to find R+Ps that fit the TII diffs which is why most people off it for a 8.8"

they are interchangable between S4 and S5 but the S5 is a weaker unit. you will also need the stub axles from the series the diff came from as the viscous are different lengths than the clutch type S4 units. the FD torsen will also fit into either S4 or S5 TII case, again needing the stub axles from the torsen unit.

the cases between S4 and S5 are virtually identical.

^Good info Karack, but still not what I'm looking for...

According to http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...rhaul_kit.html and http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...rhaul_kit.html
Not only will Mazda B2000/2200/2600, MPV, and 929 trans fit the Rx-7, but so will "Ford" transmissions (actually made by Toyo Kogyo!) from Ranger's, Aerostar's AND Bronco 2's. Which leads me to believe that there must be more options out there for FC diffs/3rd members...
