It will fit, but most s5's have the (IMHO) stupid power seatbelts. so there's going to be a gap between the plastic and the body where the seatbelt track was. You'll also have to drill holes for the seatbelt mounting.

I bought a full black s5 carpet set off of another forum member and there are definitely a lot of 'gaps' and 'holes' where my s4 is missing some little accessory or something. It's OK, but it's still kind of an annoyance.

Most of the S5 interior will fit in a S4, but there will be some pieces (like headliner, A and B pillar trim, carpet) that won't fit without leaving holes and gaps that would annoy most owners.

what exactly makes the S5 interior better than the s4? The seats don't matter much to me, so other than that.....?

You also need to trim your storage bin frame to fit the s5 rocker panel covers right behind the seat. (or get the s5 frame). The a/b pillars, it's best to dye your stock peices black, the headliner, you may also want to dye black. Unless you don't mind two tone black/grey (which really doesn't look that bad).

It has the black leather and the carpet is black, Unlike s4 which has the wool liking carpet and the cloth seats. Its just a preferance, in that case I like s5

you mean black leather on the door panels? thats easy to duplicate on an s4 door panel, just take it out from the back, and get some black leather looking cloth. also ive seen a black s5 carpet, its wool looking too.

I'm in the process of re-doing my s-4 in black. Mostly using vinal dye. So far, it's looking perty good. I'm not looking forward to taking out the A-pillar mouldings to paint them though. I just know that they're going to shatter into a million pieces.

Thats the reason im gonna paint my pillars and dash in the car on a hot day. I am scared that brittle plastic is gonna shatter. BTW is it possible to remove and install a new carpet without removing the whole dash.

Yes and no. It's easier with the dash off, but you do have to remove the center console and loosen the bolts around the shifter/stereo area in order to get the carpet to slide out. The reinstallation of the carpet is tricky because you have to get it to slide all the way up into the firewall area. Take your time, don't get frustrated

Can you post some pics of your current progress? Id like to see what they are looking like.

Thanks.

And on a side not...I have removed the 'a-pillars' before and it was no problem. They arent in direct sunlight all the time like the dash peices are...so they arent anywhere NEAR as brittle. Just my 2 cents.

Actually the S5 interior is much worse than the S4. The quality of the cloth and fabric materials went down, parts got heavier, and on US models the S5 came with the lame mouse belts.

I have both and being 6'2" I can tell you that the S4 T2 seat rides about 2" lower than the S5 T2. My S5 seats have got to go.

They did.

The 88 10thAE (which is a S4) came with a black interior.

You could cut the carpet if you didn't want to take the dash off. I had to unbolt the blow to get my carpet out in two cars I switched the s5 interior in. There was two gaps by the storage bins that was really no big deal. I had to take the plastic cover off my idiot cluster to make it fit will the plastic trim. You need to drill a hole for the old seat belt bracket and cut a small rectangle near the bottom to get the seat belt to retract properly. If you are still using the s4 center console surround only the two bottom screws will go in. The head liner has a small gap on each side, but not many people stare at the ceiling. As far as the a-pillers, just get some vinyl paint and make them black. There will be two holes in the back carpet that goes behind the back speakers. I think they are for the rear cargo cover and one of them is a light. You could glue them in if you want. IMO even with the problems it is still worth it to have a nice black interior to compliment the car.
