Question S4/S5 HYBRID not running well. help

My 1987 TII has a 91 S5 TII motor. Kind of a headache to transplant but fairly easy because I deleted everything that the S4 could not operate - EOMP, swapped throttle bodies, using high imp injectors with the resistor jumped, etc. There's nothing on the motor anymore that the S4 computer can't handle.

So now to my problem, it turns over and fires right up but dies after 10 seconds as if it slowly ran out of fuel. But punch the clutch turn the key and it starts up again and dies again every time. I thought I had a manifold leak so i re-sealed the upper gasket and still same issue. Has fresh mixed gas at about 130:1 or about that. It has enough mixed because its kinda smokey.

Is it possibly the fuel pump? Any help is appreciated. Lmk if more information would help. LETS GET ME ROLLING THIS SUMMER!

check the fuel filter and fuel sock. are the fuel lines hooked up correctly? if the new engine is jdm, the fuel lines need to be switched from usdm.

Reverse the fuel lines on the engine.
That means take the 2 rubber lines that go onto the steel lines on the engine and swap them.
so fuel filter to one line and return line to the other.
See if that works.

Air flow meter isn't plugged in or it isn't functioning properly. Jumper the fuel check connector and see if that allows it to keep running.

As far as fuel flow direction Yes.
US cars have their fuel go into the primary rail.
JDM cars go into the Secondary rail first.
It will not work correctly if you do not Observe the "change".It will start and then starve fuel and die.

So today I put in new NGK plugs, air filter, fuel filter and it ran longer and actually came down to an idle before it died again. I found some rotten wires on my leading coil and a single black wire not plugged in off of the same coil. It has a bullet style connection and I have no clue where it goes.

That single wire is a tach signal
If for some reason the tach doesn't work, sometimes that wire can be joined with a jumper to the trailing coil bullet connector and your tach in the car will work again.
It can also be used if you install a BIG *** tach, but really the trailing coil bullet connector is closer to get signal.

Someone mentioned a fuel sock. I've never heard that before, what or where is that. I'll check that tomorrow and swap the fuel lines
