s4-s5 bodys

ok, i have a 91 na, steel hood, dented front fenders, and cracked up front bumper...

out of the three salvage yards i went to, one has 3 s4's, one had 1 fb, and the other has 2 s4's and an fb. all na's.

i only found one aluminum hood, but it will need to be painted imediately to get all the rust off of it. this will fit my s5 correctly, is this right. and i read in the archives that the s4 front bumper fits with minor mounting hole differences. how different. i still can't find an s5 front bumper and fenders, so these cars may be my only option. and how do i replace the running boards, they appear to be one piece, as do the rear fenders. and i tried to get ftps out of three cars already to peplace my broken one, and everyone broke upon removal. how much are they new, or what am i doing wrong. any suggestions would be appreciated...later

I'm [H]ard as well hehe

Aluminum hoods shouldn't rust, but if it is a genuine aluminum hood they are rare and worth way more than $75.

meh, it's just faded as all hell, and in rough shape. off a 87, still need to know if it will dimension wise, fit an s5. no dents though... and i just read that i have to get the hinges as well to insulate the hood to prevent electrolidic corrosion or something. fsm also said that the hood locks are different, beefier for the steel hood, and weaker for the alum. it also says that you should use the correct latch. woulden't the beefier steel hood latch be better, or is that going to need to insulate the alum hood as well

Your bump was deleted. Bumps are forbidden in the 2nd gen techincal section. Please read the rules sticky at the top of the page before posting again.

2nd gen hoods are all interchangable, however the latches are the same strength, it is just the alum hood latches use less force to lock the hood down. You do not want to use a steel version hood latch on a alum hood as it will be difficult to latch as well as to open.

And as mentioned above, alum hoods don't rust... Just so you are clear on that!
