S4 and S5 auto trannies, HELP!

S4 and S5 auto trannies, HELP!
Are they directly interchangeable, or are they different. Please someone with knowledge on this help me out.

No. The S5 auto is electronic and requires its own ECU. And it also has a bunch of other things like a kick down switch.

Yeah, so it's be a bitch to put an s4 auto tranny into an s5 auto car?

its a bitch to put them in either way if youve never changed a tranny. i changed mine recently, not fun at all.

I know. I've done about5 tranny removalsand installations combinedon Rx-7s so far. not fun.
