Is it S4 or S5?

I am in the process of a TII swap into an FB. I bought a J-spec S4 engine for the swap, well so I thought.

I am a mostly an FB guy, so I am kinda a newb to the turbo world.

I have S5 rotor housings, S5 turbo and manifold, but I dont have an electric OMP. I am almost certain that I have the square brown low imp Injectors also, but I need to remove a few more things to get to them to make 110% sure.

So my guess that my motor is a mix match of parts, What I need to know, is what harness to use for my swap. I would like to run an S4 so I can use the Rtek modded ECU that I already have.

But what about the sensor position, I thought that ment it was an s5 rotor housing.

But my question still hasnt been answered, I already have a N333 ECU with an Rtek 1.7 in it. So in theory I should be able to use a 86-87 harness and low imp injectors and be fine right?

Front rotor housing appears to be S5, rear appears to be an FD.

I know, my FC buddys warned me about this! lol

We over in the FB section, get to the point and are pretty flame free, but the rumor in the FB section is that with the FC & FD guys you need a flame suit to post in those sections, and they like to post 5 pages on a "how do I do a burn out" thread and the ones with good questions go unanswered, but thats just rumor lol.

Yes, you can use S4 ECU, harness and low imp injectors on your S5 engine.
I know becuse I'm doing it myself.

if you've got s4 sensors and all that stuff you should be fine, especially with a mechanical OMP

The sensors are what determines what computer you can use. More than what the actual internals of the engine are. I have a S5 with FD rotors, and an S4 front cover with Mech OMP.

OH and the FD rotor housings have the spark plugs closer together than the FC. I know you can run one or the other, but I've never heard of combining the two.

You guys are great help finally! I bought an engine that I also thought was an S4 T2 but then like 2 months later Im checking the engne and its an S5 because of the eletronic OMP. I was pissed because i wanted to mod it,get bnr turbo upgrade, and rtek but i cant with an S5. But since one of you said as long as i have the right eletrical stuff and a mechanical OMP then I guess I will be fine! Sorry about jacking the thread I just wanted to make sure this will be ok.

I have a J-Spec TII engine also. It has the knock-hole sensor threads on the sides of the housing, no sensor in either threaded hole, but it has a mechanical OMP also. I had the idea that it was a S5 engine, but I was told that it is a S4 engine. I am using a S4 N/A harness and an N332 ECU.
