Question S4 S5 550cc high imp injector swap (searched)

I am involved in a turbo installation project for my rx7 1988 gxl

From stock I have not resistor box, my stock injectors are high impedance 460cc. I was looking for a set of s4 t2 1988 injectors that also are high impedance ones with the same injector clip.

My question is:

Could I use S5 550cc igh impedance injectors with their clips right away??

I will be running a S4 T2 ECU

Thanks for helping

the S5 injectors plugs are different that the S4 ones.. your gonna have to search for later model S4 injectors (when they got rid of the resistor box) or you can just add resistors into the wire like i did..

Thanks for the reply,

I know about these 2 solutions, but I am wondering if S5 T2 injectors will work with s4 T2 if the correct plugs/clips are soldered in the harness. Can you solve that?

Cheers

Your question was answered in the FAQ of this website, maybe search there first?

86-87 13B NA, {low} square center, 460cc, red, 195500-1350
86-87 13B Turbo, {low} square center, 550cc, tan, 195500-1370
88 13B NA, {high} square offset, 460cc, purple, 195500-1350
88 13B Turbo, {high} square offset, 550cc, purple, 195500-1370

yes.

I had already find that info, also at rotaryresurrection site but I couldnīt assume the injectors could be swapped without any problem. Another question is: does it matter if I link the solenoid excitation wires in the opposite possition? My harness is really dirt and it will be hard to see any colour on the wires..

Thanks

i dont think it matters ( i could be wrong) but it wouldn't be hard to tell which wire goes where even if both wires were black.. i dont see what you couldnt change the plug and connect an S5 injectors i would search a little more tho im not 100% positive.

i would recommend buying the plugs new.. there no more than like $6 a plug and def worth it wouldnt want like a plug to disconnect in the middle of boosting or something. That's just my opinion.

You can wire the injector Cips on and it does NOT matter which wire goes where on the Injector side..
You do not have to worry,.,.just Solder one wire and then the other. There is no specific polarity.
If you Double want to Doubt this, then Get a hold of Keith at www.injector-rehab.com .
I had the same question as you.the Wires on the clips he sells are the same color!(so no Positive or negative to go by).
The S5 HI impedance injectors will work with an S4 ECU If the S4 Harness and the appropriate sensors(like afm and boost sensor) are Used..The ECU sees HI impedance anyways.( and it sees HI when you have a ressistor pack and LO's on the harness too.).
I hope that help ya...Cheers STYX.

Or just grind down the key notch on the injectors and use the clips that are already on your car.

Hi Javi! Maybe you donīt know me but i know who are you! xD

Iīm about to get rid of my TII late 87 injectors... what it doesnīt make sense is that they are RED when they are supposed to be PURPLE?
Maybe the previous owner changed them for NA ones...
If you are not in a hurry for them ( it will take a while to get my new ones) you can take my old ones, they have the square offset connector.

Regards.

Hey Siscu!

I have a sale pending for a set of s5 t2 injectors, anyway feel free to ask me whenever you want to get rid of yours, just in case I havenīt still bought ones. I donīt know why your injectors are red coloured.. if possible have a look to the ref. number (195500-1350 S4 NA
195500-1370 S4 Turbo), mines where so dirt I canīt arrive to say what colour they are.

Another question, do you know if you ecu is N332 or N333? Have you got resistor box or have checked the injector impedance?

Cheers mate!

Hey Javi!! i didnīt checked out the injectors ref. numbers nor the impedance ( i will do it in the next couple weeks, car is 150km far...) but i know for sure that my ECU is an N344 eurospec , N332 and N333 are USspec. but i know that a forum member called hiGGi uses US spec ECU in Euro cars.

Regards!
