S4 quarter panels = S5 quarter panels????

So I need to replace my front driver side quarter panel and I need to find out if S4 1/4 panels can replace/fit on S5 RX-7's

I called a big rotor-head in my local area & he said there are small differences between the two series.......is this true?

I dont really want to order in a new OEM 1/4 panel & be raped up the *** by Mazda...........

this was discussed not long ago...someone (i believe Icemark) did a poll on it...Most everyone said there is no difference except the extra hole on the S5 fenders that hold the molding on! but thats nothing major...since u have to use an adhesive to glue on the molding just cut the snaps off the molding...For clarity--the S4 and S5 both have rectangular holes cut in them to snap the molding on...the S4's don't have it on the rear! Hope that was clear!

I just went through this myself and found the fitment to be just fine, But took the extra step. I made a template to cut the holes for the clips, drilled holes and used a nibbler to cut out the rest.
