s4 na wont idle correctly
Alright guys. bought 2 s4's about 2 weeks ago and swapped motors in them. if you want more info check out my other posts. as of now tho the car sits with an engine that has been stripped of all emissions, have none where i live, in hopes to simplify this rough idle and stalling problem its had. Apparently, according to my brother, it still is having this problem. I have not witnessed it yet after it was stripped of all emission things. He said he still hears like a vac leak somewhere. There is one that i noticed that lead to nothing, it was a line that ran across the fire wall and into a black canister thing on the passenger side of the car. I couldn;t figure out where that line was supposed to go. I will try and find a picture of what I am talking about. I am going to try propane tricks tomorrow. I also had a few questions about some components on the throttle body.
on the first pic what is the little screw with the nut on it called? Also there is another screw with a spring around it towards the front, what is that called? They seem to adjust idle/mixture?
in the second pic i circled the line I was talking about that doesn't have a hose on it and am not sure where it goees thanks for the help!

The screw in the nut adjusts the secondary throttle plates and it's already adjusted properly so you leave that alone. Can't see in the pic the other screw you refer to but if it is encased in a 1 inch long spring then that is for the TPS adjustment.
The black canister is a charcoal cannister for emissions and it prevents the car from smelling like gas.

Alright well we checked fuel spark and not too sure about compression. The motor would shake a lot when it would crank amd run. Like way toomuchbto be normal. Checked everything we could think of. And decided even if we got it running it wouldnt be enough power for us. So we decided to swap in a 302 bolted to a t5. Will probably make another thread and post pics of the build from there.
