s4 na trans leak can find it! HEEELP.
ok i have a 88 na vert.
I reacently had pulled the s4 to replace with a s5 na. while the motor was out i pulled the trans out and replaced the imput and output seals along with the seal that the imput cover requires.
put the s5 na in the car ran it about 1000-2000 miles NO PROBLEMS OR LEAKS.
pulled the motor and sold it to 088.
I then put my s4na the original motor back in with tye same trans the original trans for that motor.
I started it and let it idel and check timing and leaks.
I seen no leaks timing was set! Then I drove it down the road 1 block and parked the car to check for leaks again. I seen drips coming from where the engine and trans met up.
I thought motor oil... but i smelt it and it was gear oil.
hhmmm funny.
pulled the trans out and couldnt really tell where the fluid came from out ot the trans.
I pulled the cover to find a bad bearing, the top rollerskate looking baering.
ok I sent it to a trans shop (a&s trans, good people) to replace and seal the bearing and reseal the cover with a new paper gasket.
Put it back in for it to do the same sh7t!!! Eerrrrr!
Ive pulled this pos like 3x to have the same horse sh7t happen.
gear oil dripping from the bellhousing area on the inside of the trans.
Ive replaced the damn paper gasketl 2x now and! the imput seal is pretty new still.
I also put about 1qt of gear oil in it and stood it up almost completly verticle to see if it would leak, and nother came out. I had it there for 10 mins at least.
could this be a bad imput seal?
It only starts leaking once the car is in motion from what it seems. Ive idel it twice with new paper imput cover seals and nothing came out untill I actually drove it.
please help guys because Im 2 steps away from junking this money pit I have blood sweat and tears into this car along with thousands of dollars to keep getting problem with sh7t down the road

no clutch fluid or brake, its gear oil.
trust me i know the differenance it also not motor oil eithe.
and I dont believe they replaced the imput seal.
but I figured sence they knew it was leaking that they would check that. Im almost thinking it is the seal.
