s4 na missing idle mixture screw and water temp switch wires!! help please..
my s4 is missing the variable resistor for idle mixture. will this cause the egine to run poor? or will it be ok. i read some where that the ecu will default back to a specific value is this correct? also i have the water temp switch on the bottom of my radiator but there are no visible wires going to it. ive looked all over and cnt seem to find these wires for the switch. will this cause any issues? im trying to figure out an idle problem im having. any help would be greatly appreciated. and yes i did a search but cant find what im looking for.

The Temp Switch is used for the cold start high rev startup as the sensor detects the radiator temp to see if it's okay to rev a cold engine upon ignition. It's not really that important. You can take the two wires to the sensor and tie them together and this will always cause the high rev cold start to occur or you leave the two wires separate and the cold rev start will not occur. Both wires are part of the Front harness, one is Black and the other is Brown.
The ECU is supposed to use a default for the Variable Resistor. What that is? You'll have to look for that info in the FSM. How does it affect idle? I personally do not know.
