S4 NA keep or swap intake manifold.

The queshtion is what is differance between a TII manifold and a NA manifold?
Inside and exterior wise?
I have ben told inside the TB they are identical what about the manifold?
The Exterior of a TII TB is compleatly different. What is diferent about them?

The delema reson for asking.

1. I want more knowledge!
2. I will be turboing my NA for sure.
3. I allready have a ported and polished TB for an S5 TII b/c I was buying a 89 TII but didnt get it and got the NA.

There's a huge difference, and if you're not planning on turboing your car, then you need to keep the NA manifold.

The NA manifold is designed to work with the negative air pressure and create better flow for it, the turbo is designed to work with positive air pressure. Do some searching for more detailed answer, but for the basic YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE THE T2 INTAKE ON AN NA!!

so perity much. I need to just use gaskets as spacers to clear the turbo.
And get rid of my TII ported polished TB and have one done for my NA

If you're going to turbo your n/a then the TII manifold setup can make things easier for you. No spacer needed for the exhaust manifold, no problems with the turbo running into the strut tower, easier to fit a larger dp in, etc.

yeah make sure you port the lower part of the turbo intake manifold so that the faces line up with the auxilary ports of the n/a otherwise its going to be kinda weird on you, but smart smart idea to run a TII manifold stup if your turboing an N/a, just make sure you run it safe, not too much boost , i'd recommend having that engine run by a standalone or at least get a S-AFCII and rear Aaron Cake's "almost complete guide to turbo charging an N/A rx7"

thx guys. so in this case i can locate the manifold easly and i can use my ported TB just port the TII manifold to basicly match the outlets of the NA.

I was tinking T04 6psi or so. Thow aroncake and sonicrat are runing alot more boost.

I am leaning towrds haltek e6x ECU.

Only ? remaining what about the vac line ports on the intake and whatever ells is different on the TII TB and manifold compared to NA.

I was wondering too, is it possible to port the intake runners? Maybe by using different sizes of sanding drums to take a bit off each pass or something. I dont think I've seen aftermarket intake runners.
