s4 interior switched 12v (need quick answer)
I have searched countless threads and have not found my specific answer. I am finishing the wiring on my standalone tonight and need to find a switched 12v for the ecu.
I do not plan on running it to the Cigarette lighter and I heard mention of using the ignition switch. I plan on using this if possible but I am having difficulty figuring out which wire to tap into.
Any insight is greatly appreciated

thick black with white stripe(or grey stripe..I think.,.it really is the only THICK black wire) going to IGN,.I'd tap off the Harness side. That way you can always remove the Switch and column without cutting an ECU wire.

I mean just strip the wire and T into it..Before the IGN switch connector.
That way the ECU feeds off the harness side.
so like this: ECU wire T'eed into wire into harness... Harness Connector To IGN Switch...Connector on IGN Switch..IGN SWitch.
I know this may not be the "best way" to connect the Wire But I actually stripped like an inch of insulation off the Thick Harness wire, Untwisted the Thick Wire and made like a "hole" for the ECU wire. Then I Stuck the ECU Feed wire through it(had like 2 inches extra stripped on that) and wrapped/twisted the wires together.Taped the living daylights out of it.
Ya..ya..ya..Solder is your friend..
BUT it ain't your friend when you are 54 years old, upside down and have 3 Degenerative discs.(It's do it quick BUT effectively..lol!)
