S4 hood fit S5?

I went to the junkyard today to get a new headlight cover for my 7 to make a vented cover out of it and for my friend to get the AFM for his Miata. I decided to check for LSD and an aluminum hood. LSD, no dice, hood, oh yes. So I am wondering, will the hood from an 86 will fit my 90?

it will fit fine. they are all the same. if its an aluminum hood, be sure to grab the latch since i think the one for the steel ones are a little more heavy (the spring i believe). when i swapped an aluminum onto my car, i switched the latch and it was easier for me to close the hood.

So I need to take the whole latch, or just the spring? Thanks for the tip btw.

i believe youll want the hinges that the hood bolts too as well. the reason is steel hinges + aluminum hood causes corosion from what ive been told.

So the hinges will weld themselves to the hood if I don't take the ones for the al one? Can't wait till next week when I can afford it.

just put a thin rubber spacer on the hinges where the hood mounts.

oh yea, get the hinge too. although i have the hinges for the al hood, i haven't put them on my car yet. i haven't seen any problems yet but when im ready to paint my car, i'll put them in. im too lazy to take the fender off just to swap those.
