S4 fuel problems
So here's my story.
It was a fine wednesday afternoon and I was powering off the traffic lights in my 1987 GXS and leaving the smug bastard who was beside me on the lights in the dust. Just as I was about to finish third gear my engine lets out a mighty POP! (probably shooting a bit of flame out the back as well) and then starts running really rough and almost totally powerless (kinda like when a piston engine isnīt firing on all pistons).
I just about manage to limp home by keeping the accelerator floored to keep the revs up.
I start fiddling around under the hood and after checking the spark plugs, the spark and pretty much anything else I could think of I notice that when I remove a spark plug and crank the engine fuel flows out of the spark plug hole.
I'm guessing I have failed injectors or some ECU problem?
I implore you Rotary gods to have pity on an Rx7 owner stuck right in the middle of the atlantic with VERY limited parts access and see if you have some pointers or if something like this has happened to you and if so how you fixed the problem.
