S4 Front lower Control Arm

Question is..Are the front S4 lower control arms symmetrical..i.e. same arm both left and right(aluminum arm itself)? I have a pair that came off a S4 from a wreckers ..looking at them ....markings are the same/symmetrical except obviously one came off the left and the other off the right side of this particular car(only FC in the yard and and rear bushing orientation)... the 88 parts fische shows too different part no.s for the arms..... Right side FB01-34-310B, left side FB01-34-360B

As you've wrote, the left and right sides are different (right side FB01-34-310B, left side FB01-34-360B). They are the mirror images of each other and are not interchangeable.

well either this car had 2 of the same arms on it with one flipped the other way as it looks like it works...there is no L or R markings on these like the S5 so I can't figure if actually they are 2 of the same or which side they go on..

Ok, I see what you're saying. After comparing some online photos of S4 left and right LCAs, they look pretty much the same to me too. I've got a spare set of S4 LCAs for my S5. I'll need to take a closer look at them tomorrow.

i think the castings are the same, different part number because the bushings and ball joints are installed differently to make it sided

Great....thankyou...the wreaker just gave me the arms sans outer ball joints .....so that was another clue I was lacking along with two different part no.s had me even more unsure..cheers
