S4 Engine swap, Thoughts and knowledge please =)

Hey guys. I know this has probabily been reposted tons of times, but my search function isnt working right now (internets being crappy).

Anyways, heres the rundown. I've got a 1987 GXL. I'm looking into doing a Turbo swap. i've heard people doing Jspec engine swaps into their USDM cars, and i've got a few questions on it.

if i order a Jspec Turbo S4 longblock motor, what all will I have to change to get it to work in my car. will the Ac\Heat\Power Steering and the like work with my car?

will i have to swap wiring harnesses? Any fabrication? and if anyone can recomend a good supplier that would be great. thanks guys =)

Personally, i say buy a TII or go NA-Turbo. unless you plan on rebuilding the jspec (which you might have to anyway), you're not going to be saving a lot of money unless find some steals. If you go NA-Turbo, you could come out ahead pretty easily if you have any fabbing skills/hookups. Just my .02¢

yeah, I read that but it doesnt mention the differences in using a Jspec motor as opposed to a Usa one.

ok so basically most things are bolt up. The jspec doesn't have 3k warmup, or egr (s4). powersteering is the same, not 100% sure on ac but i believe it is. You're gonna wanna use a your NA harness and modify it (easy) or use a USA TII harness and modify it (harder) or source all the TII harness and use them. I personally used the NA harness. i think there's something i'm forgetting but oh well. Search more

i got mine from corksport, i think it was right around 1200 before tax. I bought from them cause i felt they were reputable. On the other side of the price range is Osaka JDM motors or something like that. i believe their price is 650 for a long block, but they seem to be hit-or-miss. try searching for both. . .

huu,,, They are the same without a EGR valve, fuel rails inlet outlet reversed.

It bolts right up man you will need an exhaust and to modify the JDM harness to fit or use a USDM harness and a TII ECU.

Also you will need to take note to change some wiring under the dash there for alt and timing to not be screwed up. You need a TII AFM and pressure sensor also.

But when you get the motor in we can help you with this.
