S4 Convertible w/ S5 Coupe/Hatch tails? What does it take.

I know how to install the S5 lights on an S4 of the same body, but what exactly is involved in putting a set of lights from an S5 coupe/hatch onto an S4 vert? I have read that it takes relocation of the trunk latch? Just seeing if anyone had some clarification on this. I tried to search with no luck.

Thanks,
Tom

Smile RXVERT Always in Progress

It could be done, no mods to the latch couple of holes to drill and some metal to bend, also youll need to remove your old license plate holder, then use the license holder of the coupe ,which means no more using the trunk keys , just have to use the trunk release from the inside of the car. some picts:

I typed this up and then realized why someone responded "zombie", thread from 07, lol

you have to actually cut metal out then that picture would lead you to believe
biggest drawback is you will lose the key access to the trunk, but you can rig a emergency release fairly easy out the bottom of the car

cut out is more like this:

When i got my vert it came with tail lights from the s5 coupe lights. Sadly the person that did this DID NOT relocate the key latch to open the trunk. Now I am stuck with my trunk being closed because the cable is now worn out and I have no way of getting into the truck. Just be sure to make a new key hole so u can open it later on in life.
